Team Lead Backend Development

As a Backend Team Lead, you’ll drive the development of robust and scalable backend solutions using a modern tech stack. Your leadership will foster technical excellence and continuous improvement, while supporting the professional growth of your team members. Your work will contribute to impactful and innovative solutions that drive our success.

What you’ll do:

  • Coach and lead multiple backend development teams.
  • Conduct mentoring and development interviews, identifying training needs to improve colleagues' skills.
  • Ensure a transparent and motivating work environment where colleagues take the initiative to improve themselves and the teams.
  • Develop and implement local and Group Development Strategies, frameworks, processes, and changes to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality software.
  • Work together with stakeholders to support, maintain, and create solutions for the business with a strong focus on reusability for the Group.

You’d describe yourself as follows:

  • You hold a university degree in computer science, engineering or a related field.
  • You are able to communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing. Fluency in English and Dutch is a must.
  • Coach and lead backend development teams effectively while conducting mentoring and development interviews to identify and address training needs.
  • Ensure a transparent and motivating work environment that encourages colleagues to take initiative.
  • You are skilled in developing and implementing strategies to ensure high-quality software delivery.
  • You will work well with stakeholders to create solutions that are reusable and beneficial for the Group.
  • A monthly salary indication between €6.000,- and €8.000,- based on a 40-hour week and flexible working hours.

Meet the team

The Group Tech department is the backbone of the Postcode Lottery Group. Working here, you’ll be part of the team that bears responsibility for all IT operations, ensuring all lottery rounds run smoothly, developing and managing the necessary systems, and setting up and maintaining digital workstations for more than 600 employees. You’ll collaborate with all the lotteries’ departments and with external parties. You'll stay in close touch with colleagues at the Postcode Lotteries abroad, working with them to create the best IT solutions.
